WJF Update for 8/21/06

What's up everybody? Be sure to let me know. While I'm waiting on
that, I've got some news for the upcoming year. Some new, very
exciting things in the world of the WJF and all those who are
interested. We're planning four events between now and next Summer.

Going in order, The World Juggling Federation National School
District Championships is currently planned for the Summer of 2007.
We currently have eight representatives throughout the US who will be
giving demos and training to educators and students in schools
nationally starting in September. We will be setting up juggling
programs and school teams who will represent their school and state
by competing against other schools at the 2007 WJF Convention. If you
would like to have this program in your school, please email me for
more information.

The next event will be the WJF Training Camp. We'll be holding it
this December and we have a couple of options for dates. It will be
three days long and consist primarily of workshops on juggling
technique, ethics of juggling, preparing for performance and
competition, and how to get work as a juggler. 24 hour practice space
will also be available. We'll be holding it at the Riviera Hotel in
Las Vegas either from December 15-17th, or the 18th-20th. Room rates
for the 15th-16th would be $55/night. The 17th-20th would be $45/
night. If any of you are interested, please let me know which dates
would work best for you and if you would be staying at the Riviera
Hotel. There will be a charge for the Training Camp, but it will most
likely start under $100.00. We're still in the early planning stages
of this event, but once we get an idea of how many people will be
coming, we'll get moving on it. So please let me know asap if you'd
like to attend.

Next on the list is the WJF UK Open, hosted by the BJC in April.
Three days of WJF events will be held in the UK including the 360s,
low 360s, isolated endurance, endurance, freestyle, diabolo, and all
the advanced competitions. We'll also schedule some exhibitions as
well. Everyone is welcome to come to go through prelims for the
competitions. So far Thomas Dietz, Toby Walker, Vova Galchenko if
he's able to travel to the UK, and myself are planning on attending
and competing. We'll have more information on this in the next couple
of months.

WJF IV

We're currently looking into locations on the east coast for our 4th
convention. It will be held in the Summer of 2007. I should have
something set by the end of September or sooner. This will be the
largest scale WJF convention to date. You won't want to miss this
one, I promise you that!

Other than that, I'm going through the 75 tapes from the convention
as I prepare to edit the hour long program highlighting the
competitions leading up to the Overall Championship. We had some
pretty amazing juggling this year and a couple of new world records
set. Air dates will be announced on the WJF website when they become
available.

It's going to be a pretty busy year. I hope you all will continue to
support the WJF as we continue to expand. Talk to you all soon, and I
hope to see you in December for some serious juggling training!
